THE BIGGEST SHOCKERS OF SUNDAY
Bengals 35, Ravens 13
Baltimore led 13-0 at halftime. Tyler Huntley started at quarterback and hit Zay Flowers for a 48-yard touchdown on the game's first possession, and Tyler Loop added two field goals. Then Cincinnati scored 35 unanswered points in the second half (Bengals-Ravens box score).
Joe Burrow completed 22 of 30 passes for 292 yards and four touchdowns, one each to Mike Gesicki, Tee Higgins, Ja'Marr Chase and Drew Sample, with a Samaje Perine touchdown run mixed in. Cincinnati did not turn the ball over, and its defense picked off one pass. The Bengals are 4-2; the Ravens fall to 4-3.
Fantasy takeaway: Burrow and every Bengals pass catcher are back in play with a healthy offense. Baltimore's skill players depend on Lamar Jackson's ankle, so watch the NFL injury report all week.
Buccaneers 43, Panthers 13
Tampa Bay scored 26 points in the second quarter alone. Bucky Irving ran for two touchdowns, Calijah Kancey returned a Bryce Young strip-sack fumble for a touchdown, Baker Mayfield threw a touchdown in his return from the thumb injury, and Sean Tucker added a 46-yard touchdown run in the fourth (Buccaneers-Panthers box score). Tampa Bay ran 49 times for 258 yards and threw only 11 passes.
Carolina turned it over four times: two interceptions and two lost fumbles. Young's highlight was a 50-yard touchdown pass to Darren Waller. The Panthers fall to 3-3 and play at Green Bay on Thursday night; the Buccaneers improve to 2-5.
Fantasy takeaway: Irving is the lead back in an offense that just showed it will run 49 times. Carolina's short week makes its players risky for Thursday.
Seahawks 20, Chiefs 3
Kansas City's only points came on a 50-yard Harrison Butker field goal. Sam Darnold completed 20 of 28 for 257 yards, a 28-yard touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba and an interception, and Emanuel Wilson put it away with a 21-yard touchdown run with 3:52 left (Chiefs-Seahawks box score). Seattle ran 41 times and held the ball for 35:51.
Patrick Mahomes was held to 165 passing yards with no touchdowns and an interception, and Kansas City ran for 50 yards on 16 carries. The Chiefs fall to 5-1, their first loss; Seattle improves to 4-3.
Fantasy takeaway: Smith-Njigba remains the focal point of Seattle's passing game, and Wilson, the back who scored, led a rushing attack that controlled the clock. Kansas City without Rashee Rice had no downfield answer.
THE CLOSE FINISHES
Dolphins 28, Jets 25
Miami got its first win. Malik Willis went 14 of 21 for 208 yards and two touchdowns, both to Caleb Douglas, including a 63-yarder with 4:55 left, and ran for another score. Ollie Gordon ran 25 times for 103 yards and a touchdown (Dolphins-Jets box score).
Geno Smith went 23 of 30 for 287 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Mason Taylor caught two of the touchdowns plus a two-point conversion, Omar Cooper Jr. caught five passes for 115 yards and a touchdown, and Braelon Allen ran 17 times for 104 yards. The Jets fall to 2-5; Miami is 1-5.
Fantasy takeaway: Allen was the Jets' lead runner, so check Breece Hall's quad on the NFL injury report before Week 8. Mason Taylor's red-zone role is real.
Browns 27, Titans 24
Tony Pollard ran for three touchdowns, including a 36-yard run less than two minutes into the game and a 1-yarder that tied it with 58 seconds left. Andre Szmyt answered with a 32-yard field goal with three seconds to go (Browns-Titans box score). It is the second straight week Szmyt has won it at the end.
Deshaun Watson threw for 308 yards with an interception and ran for the go-ahead touchdown, a 9-yarder with 4:39 left. Quinshon Judkins, back from his ankle injury, ran for two touchdowns. Cleveland ran for 183 yards and is 5-2; Tennessee is 1-6.
Fantasy takeaway: Judkins is the Browns' lead back again. Pollard's three scores came in a game Tennessee never trailed until the final seconds of the first half.
Giants 27, Texans 21 (overtime)
Devin Singletary ended it with a 30-yard touchdown run in overtime. Cam Skattebo had put the Giants up 21-14 with a 16-yard run in the fourth, and C.J. Stroud tied it with a 3-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Hutchinson with 57 seconds left (Giants-Texans box score). The Giants ran for four touchdowns: Tyrone Tracy Jr., Jameis Winston, Skattebo and Singletary.
New York threw for 252 yards and ran for 188 with J.J. McCarthy starting. Stroud threw for 153 yards and two touchdowns, the other to Marvin Harrison Jr., and Ka'imi Fairbairn made field goals from 58 and 57 yards. The Giants are 4-2-1; Houston is 2-5.
Fantasy takeaway: The Giants backfield is crowded: four different players scored. Harrison caught a touchdown from Stroud.
THE REST OF SUNDAY
Steelers 16, Saints 10 (Paris)
Chris Boswell kicked three field goals and Aaron Rodgers threw a 4-yard touchdown to Darnell Washington (Steelers-Saints box score). Rodgers finished 19 of 30 for 212 yards. Tyler Shough completed 30 of 38 for 278 yards with a touchdown to Devaughn Vele and an interception, but New Orleans ran for only 18 yards on 17 carries. Pittsburgh is 5-2.
Vikings 16, Colts 10
Indianapolis led 10-6 at halftime after a 38-yard Jonathan Taylor touchdown run, then did not score again. Kyler Murray hit T.J. Hockenson for a 5-yard touchdown early in the fourth, and Will Reichard kicked three field goals, the last from 52 yards (Colts-Vikings box score). Minnesota is 6-0, the only unbeaten team left.
Falcons 29, 49ers 20
Down 14-3, Atlanta scored 23 straight points. Michael Penix Jr. threw touchdowns to Nick Muse, Kyle Pitts and Drake London, and Nick Folk kicked three field goals (49ers-Falcons box score). Brock Purdy threw for 288 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, and San Francisco lost two fumbles. Christian McCaffrey and Kaelon Black ran for the 49ers' touchdowns. The 49ers fall to 6-1; Atlanta is 3-4.
Broncos 30, Cardinals 16
Bo Nix scrambled 62 yards for a touchdown late in the first half and hit RJ Harvey for a 52-yard touchdown early in the third. J.K. Dobbins added a 1-yard score and Wil Lutz kicked three field goals (Broncos-Cardinals box score). Nix threw for 222 yards. Trey McBride caught Arizona's only touchdown, from Jacoby Brissett, who threw 48 times for 272 yards. Denver is 5-2.
Lions 20, Packers 17
Jake Bates kicked a 22-yard field goal with one second left. Jared Goff threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns, both to Jameson Williams, and Jordan Love answered with touchdown passes to Tucker Kraft and Josh Jacobs (Packers-Lions box score). Detroit lost two fumbles and still won; Green Bay had a field goal blocked. The Lions are 4-2; the Packers are 4-3.
Rams 35, Raiders 21
The Rams scored three second-quarter touchdowns to lead 28-6 at halftime. Matthew Stafford threw three touchdown passes, two to Davis Allen and one to Puka Nacua, who played through his calf injury, and Kyren Williams and Blake Corum ran for scores (Rams-Raiders box score). The Rams ran for 199 yards. Kirk Cousins threw for 308 yards and touchdowns to Tre Tucker and Ashton Jeanty. Both teams are 3-4.
